S.C.W.C. Women’s Retreat

This year our women's retreat will be a one-day event held at the church. Our guest speaker will be Robin Dykstra, an experienced scriptural presenter whose talks are filled with funny stories and practical applications that teach biblical truths and glorify Jesus Christ.

INK CARTRIDGE COLLECTION

Cartridge World will give SCWC $1.50 for every empty ink cartridge and $3.00 for every laser cartridge collected. If you would like to contribute your old cartridges, please place them in a zip lock bag and put them in the collection box near the ministry board in the foyer. Important -- Make sure not to touch the copper plate on the ink jet cartridges.

ANGEL FOOD MINISTRIES

Our church is an Angel Food Ministries host site. This provides everyone in the local area the opportunity to purchase a medium sized box of food (including fresh and frozen items) for $30 on a monthly basis. Each month's menu will be available at church or on the Angel Food Ministries web site a couple of weeks in advance of the day orders will be taken. You don't have to participate every month; and you can buy more than one box at a time.

Originated in Georgia in 1994, Angel Food Ministries is a nonprofit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief to communities throughout the United States.

Each month's menu is different. Here's a sample:

(1) 4lb. Drums & Thighs

(1) 7.5 oz. Corn Muffin Mix

(1) 2 lb. Italian Lasagna Dinner

(1) 24 oz. Potato Wedges

(10) 4 oz. Beef & Bean Burritos

(1) 16 oz. Carrots

(1) 2 lb. Chicken Breast Tenders

(1) 16 oz. Cut Corn

(1) 12 oz. Philly Steak Portions

(1) 3 lbs. Apples

(1) 24 oz. Breaded Breast Filets

(1) 12 oz. Omelette Starter (onions, Peppers, Sausage)

(1) 16 oz. Ground Turkey

(1) 16 oz. All Meat Hot Dogs

(1) 1 lb. White Rice

(1) Dessert Item

(1) Dozen Eggs

Note: Occasionally there may be substitutions made.

Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about a week or a single senior citizen for almost a month. The food is the same quality one would purchase at a grocery store. There are no secondhand items, no damaged or outdated goods, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe.

This program started through our church in January, 2007. Check our church calendar for order and pickup dates. Payment must be made with your order. Only cash, money orders, and food stamps will be accepted. Sorry, but no personal checks will be accepted. Orders will be taken on the dates and times posted on our calendar. The orders will be available for pick up on the Saturday two weeks after ordering, at the times posted on our calendar. Please bring no more than 1 large box to put your order in.
